Maryna Makarenko

born in 1990 in Ukraine, lives in Berlin. She studied at the Berlin University of the Arts and at the OCAD University in Toronto. Her work spans a variety of formats, from films and video installations to solo and collective performances and workshops.

In her work she addresses the phenomena of transient states: processes and identities that fall into the spaces of physical non-existence conceiving parallel etherealities and fictions.

Her works are presented internationally at the festivals and venues such as: Videonale.17, Images Festival Toronto, Transmediale Vorspiel, Luststreifen Film Festival, Porny Days Zürich, Goethe-Institut and Martin-Gropius Bau among others.
